Plantation Forest Wood Chips Indonesia Decrease in October 2023

The Indonesia Ministry of Trade released the Export Benchmark Prices (HPE) for wood products which took effect 1 October 2023. The HPE was raised for several wood products such sawnwood with a cross-sectional area of 1,000 - 4,000 mm2 from mixed tropical wood, Teak and Sengon.

The HPE was lowered for veneer from plantation forests, wood chips/particles, chipwood and sawnwood with a cross-sectional area of 1,000 - 4,000 mm2 from plantation forests for example Balsa and Eucalyptus.

The following is a list of Wood HPE for the October 2023 period:

A. Veneer

Natural Forest veneer US$800/m3
Plantation Forest veneer US$400/m3
Wooden sheet for packaging box US$1.200/m3

B. Chips

Woodchips/particles US$80/tonne
Woodchips US$90/tonne


C. Processed Wood
Processed wood products which are leveled on all four sides or 'Surfaced on Four Sides" (S4S) so that the surface becomes even and smooth with the provisions of a cross-sectional area of 1000 - 4000 mm2.

Mixed tropical wood US$900/m3
